Hi. My children are 8 and 9. They would like games like Zelda, mario, that kind of thing.

I don’t know whether to go for a PS4, Xbox one or Nintendo switch. Budget won’t allow for the newer consoles.

There don’t seem to be so many of the type of games they will enjoy on the Xbox?

Does the switch perform as a console as well as the other two do? Or is it better for just a handheld device?

Does the PS4 have reliability problems?

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don’t want to make a mistake when they are all so expensive!

Your best with the switch the one that connects to the TV you can get controls like the Xbox and PS and both kids could play it.

Like everyone else has said - if they like Mario and Zelda then it needs to be a switch as those games are made by Nintendo and only available on Nintendo consoles

If they like Zelda I'd go for switch there's a new Zelda out next year and I believe it's exclusive to Nintendo

I went with the switch last year and it is fab, my 7yr old and 9 yr old love it, it’s great to hook up to the big tv for mario cart races as a family, my son also uses it to watch YouTube videos too

If you get the new Xbox series s for £250 and but the games pass ultimate for 11.99 a month then they can play around 150 games for free. Plenty of kids games on it like plants vs zombies, sims etc.

Also the switch is able to plug into your TV and you can use it like an actual console, however I think they are very overpriced for what they are.

All of them have pros and cons. For the games you want you'd need the switch, PlayStation and Xbox don't really do 'childrens games' anymore.

Zelda/Mario etc are only available on nintendo anyway.

If they like Mario and Zelda then it has to be a Switch! Ours gets used every day. And get the console (not the Lite handheld)

If they like mario I'd go for the switch. You can't get mario games on the other 2 as he is nintendo only. My boys are 9 and 7 and love the switch. Get the big one not the lite so they can play on the TV multi player together as well as handheld on their own.xx
