Looking for a good hardwearing bright white washable paint for doors, door frames & skirtings
A water based enamel is easier to apply and prep and dries a lot quicker but regular enamel smells and takes longer to dry but is a little more hard wearing- this is what I was told. In saying that we used water based on all our doors, trims and skirtings and barely have a scratch on them and we have a dog that scratches doors if locked in and a toddler so I wouldn’t say the difference is that much in general wear and tear and would opt for the water as the smell on enamel is quite bad for a long time.
