Setup up the permalinks.. What is best practice?

Hey Guys, I’m quite new to SEO… I’m creating a blog and setup up the permalinks like this: mydomain/category/postname.

I wandering if this will cause duplicate content as some posts will be in more than one category.

What is best practice?

It’s not duplicate content based on categories. Google will not penalize you for that.

If you’re going to use categories, then you should make sure you have a template with description copy for each category.

Also, try not to use more than 3 categories and always set the main category the same on all (blog, news) for one cohesive feed.

If it's a blog and you want to go with that URL structure then
Assign only one category OR
use parent-child pages(not posts)
