Hi Friends, still looking for an answer here.. please suggest.

My book has landscape illustrations. Is it okay to publish the colored hardcover first and then release the paperback in black and white? (cost reasons for the readers).

What are your thoughts on this?

You also have to consider the cost of landscape colour illustrations. This will push the costs higher and likely dissuade readers, particularly in a hardback edition. AJ Hart is spot on with the comment above. There can be considerable costs to you, even if POD like Amazon.

Unless you're trad publishing paperback sales will be higher than hardback, so it makes more sense to release the paperback first.

Maybe a black and white paperback would make a colour hardback more appealing, more worth the higher cost.
