It helps with costs. We live in Kansas. Weather is just now starting to really get bitter. We usually have to stock the fire multiple times a day and night. We have a 30x40 hoop house though so it’s a lot of area to heat. But it does great holding 55-85 temps at any point day or night. You just have to babysit it. And of course, haul wood. But overall, we like like it!

Cant control the temperature and you will be out there all night.

You will need to fill a small stove every few hours gets cold fast when the fire goes out.
