Anyone have recommendations of nice spots there for the holidays? Xmas and new years?

My friend and i are currently in Colombia and had plans to go to Peru this week but with the situation going on we decided to cancel. we were thinking to do Ecuador instead!

Anyone have recommendations of nice spots there for the holidays? Xmas and new years?

Also, any recommendations of what to do there would be awesome! Ecuador wasn’t on our original itinerary so we haven’t done much research! thanks!

Montanita for New Year’s Eve! Surf/party/beach town

Also recommend going to the Amazon, it’s a bit pricey (335 dollars total including transport from Quito) for four nights but reallyyyy worth it. Stay at Tucan Lodge and you can book through secret garden Quito hostel

Ecuador is so diverse so if you would stay close to the mountains I would say Cotopaxi is the place to be or if you prefer the beach Mompiche is a laidback village where I loved spending almost a week! The cities I love the most were Quito & Cuenca! Hope that this helps.

Cotopaxi National Park is beautiful. Stay at the Secret Garden in Quito and then get their free transfer to their Cotopaxi location, it’s a little pricier but it’s ‘all inclusive’. There is no phone signal, fireplaces, dogs, llamas, hiking, waterfalls, hot tub! It was stunning and might be just the place to spend Christmas!

The wife and I loved Ecuador! I've visited the Amazon 4x from 3 countries and our trip from Coca, Ecuador was by far the best. The Galagos was amazing. Whitewater rafting, waterfalls and mountain biking in Baños was awesome. Cuenca and Quito are beautiful mountain cities. Ecuador is definitely a great alternative to Peru.

You can spend Holidays in Galápagos, jingle or mountains... A lot of places to visit!!
Ecuador will be a great place to visit.

Lot's of great thing to do in Ecuador! I don't know where might be nice for holiday things, If you're interested in wildlife and outdoorsy things, I highly recommend the town of Mindo, about 2 hours from Quito by bus. Amazing birding, hiking, tubing, zip lines, and just a lovely little town. And in Quito, check out the botanical garden, and the Guayasamín museum!

Baños has some fun activities. La Rita de las cascadas and the wlswing at the end of the world were my faves . + a hot springs. And Quito is beautiful. Head to the top of the church!
