I’ve heard rumours about protesting and curfews in Ecuador/Quito!

Hey guys, is anyone in Ecuador/Quito at the moment? I’m about to book flights to come down from Colombia, but I’ve heard rumours about protesting and curfews. Is this correct, can I still go?

Pretty sure you’re thinking of Peru and the reasons for those protests are only to do with Peru. That being said, things in the area around Guayaquil have been kind of dicey for a while with police and local gangs going at each other. A friend who lives in the area indicated that there were some localized curfews in effect. Nothing to do with the Quito area though.

I just left Ecuador (Quito) a week and a half ago, no problems then!

Protesting and curfew in Peru. I don’t recommend to come, roads are blocked and airports like Cusco and Arequipa are close.
