What is the best way to travel around London seeing sights/shopping etc?

I was looking at the oyster card but not sure if this is the best way.

Oyster card or Debit card, debit card a lot simpler and with both, you get the daily cap. Don't forget kids are free.

It costs the same to use an oyster card or a contactless debit card. Once you reach the daily cap no more money is taken.
