The dog that my fiance and I have has had dry skin for a long time

She's been to the vet for it, and we generally just try to treat it symptomatically.

Lately it's gotten worse and she has rubbed the fur off her back, but it's not raw.

Any tips on helping her dry skin?

Could she be allergic to something?
We have a white lab who is allergic to fleas, although we never once saw a flea on him. We put him on Brovecto and his fur grew back and skin wasn’t red and imflamed.

I used some coconut oil and would just try to rub it in, little difficult cause he wanted to lick it all off, but a little bit a couple times a day helped him and his fur came back.
