Hi everyone, I’ve had a great time travelling round Thailand, and I now plan on ending up in KHAO SOK in around 10 days. After that I want to go to Malaysia, but am unsure of the best route to go there from KHAO SOK - not fussed about time, looking for a cheap route, probably bus/train.
I’ve also not seen koh lanta or koh lipe so was wondering if either is worth a visit seeing as they are on the way south.
Any help would be appreciated!
Also if anyone else is planning on visiting Malaysia around a similar time (early-mid Jan) and would like to meet up, please let me know!
Thanks..

Koh Lipe is not worth visiting! It's full of rubbish, full of tourists, overpopulated and super expensive! I spent 3 weeks there as I was working in parallel and I have to say I'm glad I saw it but I will never ever come back. I can name 20 spots in Thailand that are much nicer! If you want to get to Malaysia though you might not find a better way to get there other than flying from Surat Thani, which is a hub for ferry's, busses and even planes (close to Khao Sok).
If you don't have anything booked yet for Khao Sok, make sure you stay on a floating bungalow. I've been travelling since March and this experience was one of the best so far. We booked with Smileys and stayed one night in their bungalows on land so we could do the night Safari (amazing experience) and then 2 nights on the floating bungalows from Smileys with jungle safari and cave tour. Enjoy!
