The first half of my trip is already planned with Edinburgh and Glasgow. I will be picking up a car in Glasgow and driving the rest of the trip. Here is my current itinerary
  • 14th-17th Edinburgh
  • 17th-18th Glasgow
  • 18th-19th Sterling/Fallkirk
  • 19th-21st ?
  • 21st-23rd Isle of Skye
  • 23rd-24th ?
  • 25th Orkney Island/Stromness
  • 26th Inverness
So I am looking for towns/cities to stay over and can't miss sites to see between Sterling and the Isle of Skye.

I am also planning to drive from Skye to Orkney Island between the 23rd-25th so any recommendations for cute little towns and sites to visit between there are needed as well.

Thanks and happy travels!

Pitlochry! Wonderful little town in the Highlands! Caringorms National Park is beautiful. A day trip to Dunnottar Castle on the coast is do-able from Pitlochry. (Can go through Caringorms on the way to/from Dunnottar.)

Really enjoyed Oban and a day trip to Isle of Mull. Walk on the ferry and bus to Tobermoray.

Don't bypass the Glencoe area, there is stunning scenery there too!
