I am looking to stay in an area near the French Quarter, or in it, but it must be quiet.

Any suggestions?

I’m old and need my sleep.

The whole french quarter is quiet as long as you don't go during Mardi Gras, or stay right over the bars on Bourbon St.

As long as you don’t stay at a hotel on Bourbon Street you should get a good nights sleep. I second Hotel Monteleone for a quintessential New Orleans Hotel in a prime location. Or stay at a Hotel on or near St Charles in the Garden District so you can take the streetcar into the Quarter, and be a quick walk to Magazine St.

There are plenty of hotels in the warehouse district. Depending on where you stay it is very close to the French Quarter

Roosevelt, Monteleone, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton. I prefer the ritz the best - I’m from NOLA. Ace hotel is also in a good location, although I’ve never stayed there.
