When I search for a phrase in quotes, Google only returns the page with images without texts. It happened two months ago and since then all the rankings have been lost. ideas anyone?

Other possible issue is you submitted and exact match search in quotations so if there is no exact match in the title, h1, h2 it’ll check the alt tags after.
