Should I create landing pages for all the major towns/cities?

Here’s my question. I have a furniture store who I’ve helped rank on page one for the city his office is located. To grow his sales, we want to rank statewide, specifically the bigger towns in his state.

Since everything is optimized for his city, what’s the best way to change strategy and go state wide? I would also appreciate the best strategies for statewide SEO. Should I create landing pages for all the major towns/cities? If not, what’s the best method.

 Thanks for the help!

Create different landing pages to target different states.

As others have said, create landing pages for each location you want to target with unique content (i.e. don't just copy/paste with just the location info changed).

I would then build a matrix of keywords for the services and locations, and then run a very localized press release campaign targeting all the different combinations.

Yes sir - you have to create different location pages to optimize your strategy for statewide SEO.
