I would like to stay in the realm/theme of the Book of Revelation.

A precocious child realizes their family believes the events of Revelation are prophetic. A horror faced by many.

The book of revelation is a difficult one to pair with children. Jesus giving the warnings to the seven churches and perhaps detailing what they mean would be a good start

The events of the book of revelations from the perspective of woodland animals would be pretty fascinating, I think

This thread is hilarious. But i actually used to read the series Left behind as a preteen. It would be neat to see how you could go younger than that as the bible clearly highlights children.

"Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Luke 18:16
I would say list each topic you'd like to address and beside each topic write how you would present it to a child. You may have a series on your hands. Maybe 3 topics is enough to make a whole book for kids.

Um...hey that sounds good, a group of kids realize they are being brainwashed, so they burn all the Bibles in the world!

Little miss Muffet sat on her tuffet, eating her curds and whey. Along came a spider who sat down beside her and poured out its bowl upon the throne of the beast. Its kingdom turned dark. People gnawed on their tongues in anguish.
