Your baby’s weight is okay.

Your goal should be to have a healthy baby not a chubby baby, and

babies double their birth weight at 6 months and triple the birth weight at one year.

Keep breastfeeding your baby exclusively and adequately.

Colic is common in babies. It usually starts a few weeks after birth and often improves by age 3 months. But by ages 4 to 5 months, most colic will stop.

Ways of handling colic is to reduce the amount of air the baby swallows. Always make sure that the baby does not suck in lots of air while sucking the breast or if you are bottle feeding. It is the gas moving in the intestines that is making the baby uncomfortable and when the gas are eventually passed, the baby feels better.
