Need some help… We have a dilemma for placement of our future greenhouse. The only place we need/want for it is on south east side of house. It will have the long sides north east/ south west. We have a huge hickory blocking most of the southern light and the house taking out the western sun.
Morning and early in afternoons still will get sun but by 2 pm shade starts taking over at least half to 2/3rds of the area. Is it worth it?
There are other areas but absolutely last resort choice.

Southeast is good. The house blocking the western light is not bad either, as that may reduce the heat load. How early in the year does the hickory leaf out?
In the winter when the leaves are off, it should get plenty of sun, in the summer the shade should keep it from getting too hot.
I know a lady with a similar situation she put several large mirrors in the greenhouse and it worked pretty good.
