My mom and I are planning a mother daughter trip to Thailand in March!

We are looking for a beach to stay at for 5-6 nights of our trip and then traveling to Laos for the next 4-5 days.

Does anyone have beach recommendations for places to stay in Thailand that are nice but affordable and not too touristy or party-havens. We like to have interesting outings and fun food and drinks. Someplace where we can get a good deal on an interesting and beautiful place to stay?

Koh Lanta is a lovely island that is not overly touristy. You would need to get to Krabi and then ferry to Koh Lanta. Ao Nang beach is nice- near Krabi with some other gems like Railay beach very nearby. From there you can also visit Phi Phi Don—a little more expensive but very beautiful.
