How much time should a minimum layover be?

If I wanted to leave the airport in Dublin, Ireland, to drink a pint and get a bite to eat, How much time should a minimum layover be?

Depends on where you're going. There's bars inside the airport that serve pints.

4 hours is more than enough from my having done that several times.

30 min to get out of the airport and into a cab, 1.3 hours to drink and eat without rushing, 30 min to get back to the airport, 2.3 hours to go through customs and security. At minimum, you need 5 hours.

6 days because you'll actually want to see and do, otherwise just drink in the airport.
