We are looking for lodging for about 3 ½ weeks in June in San Sebastian, Spain

.. Does anyone know of any off the beaten track websites for booking lodging where the rates are slightly more affordable?

We are in search of at least a two bedroom apartment that can comfortably house 2 to 3 adults and two children.

Otherwise, we will pay through the nose on Airbnb.

You can try nice2stay or casamundo which are similar to airbnb in Europe. You may also try a search of the area on google maps. If you zoom in you may find rental apts and villas that have their own website or phone number. If you can contact the property directly you can avoid paying 3rd party booking fees, etc.

All that said, summer is prime season in San Sebastian so it may not be easy to find a bargain.

Also, if you rent for a full month rather than 3 1/2 weeks you may be eligible for significant discounts on airbnb.
