New to SEO and would like to ask this group about backlink strategy

I have a Shopify store (drop shipping) and was thinking of either creating a separate blog that would link to my store or creating the blog on my store directly. Any suggestions on what would be the best strategy? Also maybe do both, create a blog post and post it on my store blog and on my external blog.

If it’s better to do a separate blog, any platforms that you would suggest?

Start a blog on your shopify story that helps engage with what you sell. Do reviews, comparisons, how-to, faqs, etc. Become the blog that answers every question your customer has!
