So I started blogging again but my old blog posts are 500-600 words, should I go back and edit my old blog posts to make them longer or should I just write longer blogs moving forward? How long should my blogs be to help with SEO?

Do they answer the reader's question? If so keep them. Otherwise edit!

You only need a count of 1200 words on your posts.

They should be just as long as it takes for you to provide the helpful information you are intending to give. Just making a post longer will not help your SEO and can actually harm it unless you have additional helpful information.

500 words is not a thin content. If you have additional info regarding your blog post then you should update it. Focus on link building if you want to see results.

You don’t need a specific word count. Do you need a good quality article that’s interesting. Googles been clear and I’ve proven it by actual work that your article shouldn’t be any longer than it needs to be but should be thorough. If you’re just adding words to hit a number you’re not going to get what you want.

Instead of thinking in terms of wordcount.. try doing keyword research and add in some long-tail phrases if you think it needs to be beefed up. but is the content satisfying your users, is it ranking and serving its purpose?

Think EEAT. Would adding new info improve an existing blog? Then update. Is there new information on another topic you have not written about? Write a new one. No time to write? Employ a copywriter!
