Another question: What do you do with scenes that don’t fit into your book but you have a hard time parting with or think should also be read?

Do you save them for different stories and swap out names? Scrap them? Keep them in a folder for yourself?

You most definitely save them.

Save them definitely, you never know when you can use them. Maybe as a deleted scene. Maybe a different book, different characters.. could be anything.

I usually keep them documented in a folder so that when I write something (later) that is relevant to it then it can be used there.

Always save.
But it is also worth picking apart WHY they don't for into your book. It may offer insights that help in the long run.
