I cry like a baby, give myself a headache and curl up in a ball while being a blubbering mess and I feel there must be a better way.

There is no other way. If you're reacting like that so are your readers!!, that's goals right there.

I do this all the time. Cry, become anxious, angry and laugh on my own. It's part of having an ultra imaginative brain. Embrace the chaos in your mind, love. It's beautiful.
