Good evening doctors. Thanks for all the great work you people are doing here. I have really being learning a whole lot. My question is this. My baby who is 4months old hasn’t started bringing out tears when he cries. Is it a cause for concern?

And secondly what month do babies start producing visible tears when they cry?

B.w-3.6kg
C.w-6.5kg

Newborns are born with working tear ducts and glands, they only produce enough tears to lubricate and protect the eye.

It means there's no excess to roll down your baby's cheeks.

You are suppose to see teardrops when your baby is between 1 and 3 months old. As the baby glands develop, they'll produce more and more.

Let your doctor examine the baby,as the baby is 4months already.
