Looking for advise. I have a dog that suffers from colitis and is currently in a flare. He is also a very difficult dog when it comes to the vet.

My husband is out of town and I can’t take him by myself because he is so wild (we don’t have to go but if he should get worse, worried). His vet is fully aware of what is happening and we are managing him with additional medication but he has not improved much. I think he may be allergic to Simparico.

He was switched to it a few months ago and have noticed he gets loose stools for a few days but returns to normal- not this time.

Anyway, anyone have experience with this?

What has helped you manage at home when the meds are slow to make improvements.

Have you tried bland diet of chicken and rice? Or hamburger and rice? Also I’d discuss meds for the future to make vet visits less stressful.
