Has anyone replaced skirting board before?

We are getting our carpet redone and thought it would be a good time to get a thicker skirting board. Not sure how to choose the style and height though. The current one is so skinny!

We have the same very skinny skirting boards.

Even though we replaced carpet.

We left as is once you do bedrooms then have to do the full house to match.

Decided to spent our money on different projects.

But that’s just my opinion.

I recommend getting a professional to remove it. Maybe ours was unusual, but there were a LOT of very long nails and glue, which meant most of it did not come off easily and damaged the plaster. Some was so bad We ended up just removing the whole plaster and insulating the wall and starting from scratch, but definitely extra $$$
Good luck!

We have done it and it’s easy. We actually just did living area and left bedrooms. We just got ours from Bunnings.
