Will a 17 hour layover in Cairo be enough time to see the pyramids or see anything?

// NOTE //

I’ll welcome any advise on who to book through.

From everything I’ve read, if you aren’t staying in Egypt longer than 48 hours, a visa is not required.

Absolutely! We did the great pyramids and Saqqara in about 7 hours. Highly recommend you hire Djed Egypt to meet you at the airport, help you navigate the arrival process and customs and drive/guide you to these places. They are incredible!

Check out Tours By Locals. They have guides that will pick you up at the airport, do a tour of your choosing, and return you to the airport.

Yes - hire a good driver or guide - the airport can be confusing if you're getting an on arrival visa to leave. Traffic is insane (fun lol imo) and the vendors at tourist spots are aggressive. Please reach out if you need a recommendation. I became good friends with my Cairo guide - he made ALL the difference for my experience in Egypt as a solo female wandering about the country.
