We don't get enough sun for that in England… and the government certainly wont be paying 80% of the cost of them despite us expecting incoming snow yet again.

It's a completely different kettle of fish for you Aussies!

Solar panels well worth it in UK. Payback was around 5 years and net zero energy bills, ie bills minus feed-in tariff. Only started paying energy costs as prices went up. Friend on the newer green system has bill around £10/month for electricity.

It just goes into the grid in U.K. and you get money off your bill. We
