Please help! My 16 month old cat got his 1yr old shots 18 days ago. I just noticed a hard knot the size of a marble 3 days ago.

I took him back into the vet today and he felt it and said just keep an eye on to see if it gets any bigger but didn’t seemed concerned at all.

I’m freaking out bc I read about injection site sarcoma.

My two other cats are 10 and 8 and never had this happen before that I know of.

Is a knot 3 weeks later normal?

It is probably an injection site nodule. Injection site sarcoma’s are not as common. 1 in 10,000 cats get it. The nodules can stick around for a few weeks and sometimes months. Like your vet said, just make sure it is not growing in size.

I’d suggest giving it more time. Keep an eye on it and report back to your vet if it doesn’t improve over the next month. (Or sooner if it were to get worse.)
