Does anyone have a teddy bear magnolia in a big pot. Will having it in the pot restrict the growth?

We had two in quite large pots at the foot of columns at our front entry…perfect conditions, good quality potting mix, drainage was adequate, watered, well cared for … however they died a slow death .. and were replaced with miniature lemons .. which are thriving!

We have two in the moderate size pots they came in for a year. So far they’ve been producing new green foliage but no flowers. I do make sure to fertilise them frequently since they are constrained to the soil they came with.

no, if you water any plant regardless if it's in a pot, it will grow.
