I have clay soil so I am concerned the stainless steel clips will eventually rust
The plumber has sent an apprentice to remove the patches on my charged stormwater line and use plumbqwick fittings instead. What is the consensus from plumbers in this forum of the suitability for these om a charged line which would be under pressure when it rains? Also, I have clay soil so I am concerned the stainless steel clips will eventually rust.

Stainless steel shouldn’t rust. 316 stainless is approved for water application in my area. Ferncos are intended for this application. This looks 1000 times better than what you had.

Looks like the apprentice does a better job than the boss!

This is how I’ve plumbed my house 3plus years ago and haven’t had an issue.

This is a pretty reasonable fix. It kind of comes up to person preference from the plumber but these or some other repair coupling are great.
They will last forever and you won’t need to worry about corrosion ect.

I’m not sure about the steel clips but I’m assuming they’re stainless steel which surely would help? Either way, this looks like a MILLION times better than the first fix! Well done for pushing for a better solution.
