-Could anyone please advise what the tiler should use underneath the tiles when laying them?

Is a floor-leveller such as Arditex sufficient or is cement sheeting needed?

I’m concerned that cement sheeting will raise the floor height higher than the hallway.

Pull the floor boards up, replace with cement sheeting, then screed over sheeting and slab to create desired falls.

bedding is always going to raise the hieght…rather than having a step up ask your tiler to ramp up at the doorway instead.

If the floor was to stay at the level of existing areas you would probably need a hob for your shower.
