Yeah a small backpack as hand luggage, so not a regular size hand luggage like a small trolley size.

Looks like it's the Easyjet webpage, my experience is that they are the airline that does control the most on this within Europe

a small backpack is ok. don't know the exact size. for standard plus you can bring a normal trolley or similar sized backpack.

You can find exact sizes on airline websites. I took an under the seat bag my last 2 trips and both EasyJet and Ryanair didn’t weigh mine

For this selection they expect a small laptop bag like a 25-30l bag or purse. The upgraded package gives you priority boarding and they line up in a different queue which identifies you as paying for 2 bags small and regular sized. Ryanair does the same.
