My husband and I will be backing Europe for an extended period of time and I was just wondering what is the best way/ idea for washing detergent? We are conscious of weight the whole trip. Will have access to some washing machines but also hand scrubbing.
Thanks in advance.
What is the best way/ idea for washing detergent?
Re: What is the best way/ idea for washing detergent?
I got mini washing detergent sheets that dissolve in water to wash my clothes. They work well and come in a little plastic case. Took up almost no room.

Just use soap/shampoo for the hand scrubbing. You will have those available in your accommodation anyways and if you hand scrub, don't wait until you have a lot of dirty laundry. Just wash your worn socks and undies every day or while you take a shower and it will only ever take a few minutes of your time. If you go to a laundromat you will be able to buy detergent on the spot and every hostel that has washing machines will also have the option of buying the detergent right then and there. If you really want to buy your own, transfer it into a zippy bag (or double the bag to be really safe) and that way it will only ever take the space it really needs.

I'm allergic to artificial fragrances, so (despite hating using them), I usually purchase detergent pods I'm not allergic to, throw em in a well sealed bag and use that.

Powder detergent, dissolve it in a basin with water or whatever cup you have then you can put your clothes there, soak it for a few minutes and hand wash it. Just some Asian way of hand washing clothes.
