Hello, again. The love story in my novel begins with the male character falling from his balcony and landing on the female character. Both end up in the hospital, where they start talking while recovering from their injuries. Do you think that it is too far-fetched?

He would most likely brake her spine, there are plenty accidents like this, just look it up. Also, if she wasn't too seriously injured, she would be very angry with him and most likely sue him, not make friends with him.

No. It is a literal and figurative way of "falling for someone". All depends on how hurt the tumbler and his future partner are. Make a horror story.

It could be a 'near miss' kind of accident so he feels guilty enough to visit her in hospital to apologise. Then he could discover that she also has a serious unrelated condition and decide to continue visiting to support her through her treatment.
