Depends on the genre. For example I’m working on a ‘Prologue’ for my memoir.

If it’s fiction… Leave it for the authors note at the end is my opinion. I see a novel with a Foreword I figure the writer is either so new or so full of themselves that they don’t know what they’re doing.

I don’t write forewords or prologues. Read books with them and then model yours after one.
