What's the best present for the Dummy Fairy to bring?

I'm preparing for weaning my toddler off dummies. We've talked about it a lot and read the book 'No More Dummies'. I'm wondering what's the best present for the Dummy Fairy to bring?

I saw a fabulous video on tik tok yesterday where they buried the dummy’s in the ground and the next day out popped candy canes, iced donuts etc on sticks. Looked fab

I ended up buying several little things as with my older children the first night was ok with the promise of a present but the second, third night etc were trickier! I bought 5 little things and he had one each morning and by then we were fine. Good luck!

Easter bunny traded ours in for chocolate eggs and a scuttle bug. We had then round the house the night before for her to collect and leave in a basket for bunny to take the next day and it worked so well.

Our kids left their dummies for the postie to pick up. Daughter got a balance bike and son got a remote motorbike, both things they had pointed out in shops and we had talked up a lot during the couple of weeks leading up to the swap so they were super excited.

We went to Build A Bear she chose a nice teddy and an outfit and when we got home the dummies were gone.

We did a day out instead of a toy. Did a star chat for the month and if he got to the end of the month we went to the zoo (his choice).

The book "Bea gives up her dummy" did the trick for us. We read it a few times then left it on display for her to see it all the time and from one day to the next our daughter threw her dummy in the bin and never asked for it again.

Whatever they love- we had McDonald's, Lego and colouring books and staying up till 9pm (don't ask) to get my 4yr old to leave her bottle and switch to cups...the bottle fairy came, took her bottles, left her a big girl cup and a thank you card from the kids who got her bottles😂 just go with it. Make a big deal and NEVER go back to whatever you're giving up..bin them after the kid goes to bed.

Depends on what she likes really. If she relies on it heavily for sleep, maybe a teddy bear or other cuddly toy she can take to bed with her?

My daughter was the biggest dummy addict ever. I’m talking about 40+ all over the house. One day when she was about 3 the dentist said she was developing an overbite and they had to go

And they did. Complete cold turkey. Told her the dentist said they were making her teeth poorly and bought her a toy dog instead. She accepted it much to our amazement.

She’s nearly 4 now and I still find dummies in my pockets!

We visited an independent teddy shop and my little boy picked out a ‘dodie teddy’ we then went for a pizza express lunch. I bought a little bag, stickers, ribbon and glitter and we wrote a note to the dodie fairy and left them hanging on the door (I also found an app to add a fairy onto a photo)
He didn’t even ask for them after our dummy day

Ask him? I done it with my 2 year old a few years back. I planned to talk/prep for a few weeks but he decided he wanted to do it that night so we looked online and picked what the dummy fairy would bring. Quick trip to the toy shop and we were all set. He literally asked about the dummy once and that was it. I do think they need to be ready however - good luck!

We took our daughter to the bear factory and had it sewn into a teddy. We also ended up having to buy some sensory chew toys to help her with the transition as she really struggled to fall asleep without it but they worked a treat as she has something ‘in her mouth’ and after a couple of weeks she didn’t need those either anymore.
