Just got my letter about my eye screening. I have been diagnosed with mild retinopathy in one eye.

They have said its nothing to worry about at this stage but can't help feeling awful about it.

Diabetes is generally well controlled. App is saying 7.5% for Hb1ac

Take it from someone who’s a lot longer down the eye journey at just 26 years old. Background retinopathy is nothing to worry about. I’ve had countless laser and eye injections and they are nothing to worry about either.

Since its a mild case you can correct it with good control. I had a very mild case yrs ago and that's what my dr said. He also said once it passes a certain stage it can't be reversed. Mine completely cleared up.

Don’t worry. They’ll use lasers if they need to. It doesn’t hurt and it works. I’m t1 40 years. Had the lasers 25 years ago. Just fine. Take care.

I have this too. I cried so much at the opthamalogist it was the worst feeling. I’ve had an a1c of 8 for like ten years and 7.5 for 8 years. Not good enough. I feel you.
