I have 3 children only my middle child T1D (youngest 2 same dad). His about to start secondary school but his temper and anger are becoming uncontrollable! He’s attacked myself and a few children amd staff at primary school, I’m scared to leave him in a room with my 4 year old (T1D is 11)..
I’ve got him a mental health councillor threw the school and once that finishes one with the diabetic team to try and help him.. his has some changes in his life recently which I think are causing his behaviour.. but I’m wondering if there could be anything to do with hormones changing, his insulin, magnesium and potassium levels or anything else T1D related that I’m over looking?
I'm at my wits end if I'm honest and wanna help my baby anyway I can so if anyone has been through this or has any suggestions please any advice would be amazing.
TIA..

Certainly early puberty causes a swirl of emotions that can be overwhelming. But I wouldn’t blame his actions on T1 or blood sugar. He is angry and is communicating that to you. Good work getting him help early! Does he know why he’s feeling angry?
Are those anger bursts linked to the hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia? If not, a psychologist could help both of you to manage his emotion and self regulate.
