We have been laying on couch, she went out to pee and poop and was happy. Came back in and layed back on couch. Then suddenly I realize she’s shaking like she does when she’s scared. After about 10 mins of shaking she starts panting and freaking out a bit. I tried giving her a tight hug for a minute but didn’t help, or nothing I was saying helped. Moved to the bed so maybe she would go to sleep but she is still shaking although not panting.
I took her outside again and we are back in bed and she is fine now but seems a bit sketched out. Maybe she senses a coyote or some kind of animal.
Called vca they said it was fine to keep monitoring her at home and is mos likely aniety. Will follow up with her primary vet in morning thank you everyone. She seems to be calmed down now here is a pic of Franny.
My dog is doing something right now She has never done before
My dog did similar right before her Crisis Addison’s attack. I kept blaming other thing until I was given my answer. Hope your dog doesn’t have the same thing. Hind site I know know her early signs: shaking, panting, acting scared are the first signs when she needs meds.
Just curious did you try to take her outside again? I have a dog that has horrible anxiety and she is on a daily drug for it so ik how it is. But what I'm trying to get at is my anxiety dog when she holds it and has to go outside she shakes alot as if she is holding it not to make a mess but doesn't necessarily tell us she has to go out. Ik you said she went out and did due diligence outside but maybe the dog didn't get it all out and needed to do more. Try taking the dog out again it the dog doesn't go again and she is still shaking then I would say it's just an anxiety thing and anxiety just is at a high moment. Ik it happens when my dog is in the car and she is anxiety ridden at a high and we try to hug and hold her she still shakes till she is out of the car that there is no getting thru the shakes until she is on a piece of land not moving. No hug fixes those shakes in a long car ride.
She’s probably spot on about some thing. My dog is never wrong. It usually just takes me a while to figure out what is freaking him out. For example, if our smoke detector is on low battery and starts beeping, he will literally pee himself. Another time our rabbit had passed away, and he was the first to sense it. It took us a while to figure out what was wrong until we did and then we realize that he was spot on.
I do agree with anxiety or pain, especially with trembling & panting. Can you try and redirect her by playing, making her do commands and giving her a treat? Were you outside with her to make sure she didn't get into anything? Does her stomach feel tight? How old is she?
Please call an emergency vet and ask them what to do. They will give you better advice. Sounds like she could have been bitten
