Hi all, I have a Wordpress store with a growing custom. I have decided that despite loving the freedom Wordpress brings, I struggle with when things go wrong. I am therefore moving to shopify, which although more restrictive should hopefully reduce risk.
I wondered if there is a best way to move my domain across.
My initial thought was to buy a second, related domain for the shopify store and run both in parallel until I was sure that the new store was performing ( it is not a straightforward e-commerce store, but also has password protected members areas that I want to ensure work fully. I would then put some form of redirect on my original domain and in effect have both domains point to the new store.
Am I talking complete nonsense? Is there a more suitable approach?
Thanks in advance.
To Shopify.. I wondered if there is a best way to move my domain across!
I believe Shopify gives you some kind of development domain on their hosting where you can work on until you're ready to switch
