Please help! I have old house.

I had a plan to raise and renovate the house, but found the height is just under the legal heights. (About 2.1m)

Please recommend me which one is better work and cost raising or digging.

Thank you so much!!

Digging/retaining walls will probably be more expensive. If you do raise consider going a bit higher than minimum for an airy comfortable living space.

You need a finished height of 2.4 minimum. Included in that finished height is flooring (slab and flooring) and any beams required to support the house. You won’t be digging out 0.3, it would be much more than this, add to this retaining walls needed. Raising is the clear choice…

You need it to be 2.4 if a bedroom or living space 2.2 if kitchen and bathroom.
