I need to use a flight and a hotel by May 31 and am looking for a mountain location (in the eastern US) for my husband and two adult sons to go to for Memorial Day weekend. Any suggestions?

Flying from FL and want to keep the slights short since it’s only 3 days.

Mt. Washington (New Hampshire) is the tallest mountain on the east coast and you can drive up all the way to the top (it is a "fun" drive though) - so you can head to NH and explore the area. Otherwise, Maine is always beautiful - head to Acadia NP and drive up to Cadillac Mountain - it is a point inside the park and explore the beautiful park. Within the park, there are several hikes that will take you up top as well - google "Bubble Rock" in Acadia NP. It will be some driving but you can do both Mt. Washington and Acadia in 3 days. If you are looking at staying in only one hotel, then I would go for something closer to Acadia - Bar Harbor is the closest town, and Bangor is about 40 miles from the park. Both Bangor and Portland have regional airports, the closest major airport is Boston.

Asheville, NC. Fun town, beautiful scenery, really great weather.
