What are some explanations for this? Low competitors?

Hi guys,
We were using a agency for SEO/GMB for 3 years and then let them paused there campaigns 6 months ago. We did a report across conversion and traffic metrics and we are still up year on year since they stopped doing SEO and optimisations.

What are some explanations for this? Low competitors?

I thought if you stopped SEO it should go backwards overtime.

SEO takes time to show the results. A better SEO done in past helps you to generate more organic traffic. But if you don't continue SEO then there are many chances competitors ranking on the same keywords will rank above you and you will start loosing the traffic. Also if there is any update on Google or any other search engines then SEO need to work according to that strategy.

It depends on if they revoke the resources they utilized to help you increase your rankings. Citations, backlinks, PBNs, etc. If I were you, if you have access to an SEO tool, see if the number of backlinks pointing to your domain decreases over time. If you want I can give you a quick screenshot of how your backlink portfolio grew overtime and to see if it dropped recently

No I wouldn’t say do, plus 3 years is a long time and a lot of work. It would prob take longer then 6 months for you to start falling back.
