I love that I end up eating some unusual things I might not have tried otherwise and often things I would have never justified the cost of.
Recently, I've also found that the more I've talked about being given free food, the more people have given me food! That wasn't my motivation for it at all but a very happy side effect!
The catering team at work now come and find me first of all if there's anything leftover/spare. One friend gave me a big bag of chicken that had got stuck together when she froze it - all I'm going to do is cook it so I can refreeze in sensible portions.
All in all, my food budget is about £15/month now and I love it!
I love Olio and use it for all my veg, most of my fruit and most of my lunches
And us food waste volunteers love that people appreciate it so much happy food (and money).
Unfortunately, in my area the local Tesco gives food to other charities not our Olio distributer. I loved it and saved lots.
i guess all good things have come to an end there.

I love olio had around £150 worth of food for free over the last 2 months. I hate wasting food and love saving money so it's a win win!
That's a great attitude. Thank you for sharing. I keep thinking about trying things like this as I'm uncertain of Tesco 'quality.
Thank you for sharing this! Never heard of this before. So downloaded it and found a garden table and 2 chairs for free. Excellent condition from IKEA. Am chuffed to bits. My first freebie.
Well done. I whish I had the courage to do that. I just don't like strangers coming to my door.
