We bought a garden furniture set from an online garden centre for just over £1500, it arrived last Monday and we checked each part individually was okay but because of life, work etc only just tried fitting it all together this morning.
The two sofa parts don't fit together correctly, so I've contacted their customer services and they've advised that problems have to be reported with 48 hours so there's nothing they can do now?
I'm sure this isn't right but what legislation/regulations would cover this and that I need to include when challenging them?

How did you pay? Credit card, PayPal if either of them go through them. Also check their website to see if it states it has to be reported within 48 hours x
Unless it states on any info you read. then slap em with consumer rights.. unfit for purpose

Goods have to be fit for purpose ie you should be able to sit on a sofa . Consumer rights act 2015.
You have the legal right to a refund . You need to say you are rejecting the goods . These rights are for 30 days after which you still have the to rights to replacement goods. Just look it up it's all on line.
