Medication for Serious Catarrh [1yr and 1mnth]
Hello pediatrician, happy Easter to you; please what medication or measures can be given to a baby of a year and 1mnth old who has a serious catarrh that only struggle to breath for close to a month now, please help.
Most catarrh are due to viral infections and are expected to resolve on it's own without medication.
For the nasal congestion, you can perform steam inhalation with your baby or use saline drops in the nostrils to help decongest the mucus & make breathing easier.
Also, keep the child warm & avoid exposure to anyone with cough or catarrh. Also avoid exposure to dusts, fumes & smokes.
But if it still doesn't help, and your baby is having difficulty breathing, then you should see a doctor.
