Husbands sugar doesn’t want to stay up over 60. Have given juice several times without carbing. It raises to around 75 then drops back down.
Haven’t given any insulin and stopped his basil rate on insulin pump.
Called dr office but they just took a message and didn’t seem concerned.
Anyone had problems with your sugar dropping for no reason?
Has he exercised more than usual or had any kind of alcohol in the last day or so? Both of those can make blood sugar drop any time in the next 24 hours. For me, the usual explanation is overestimating the carbs in something I ate (and having taken too large a mealtime bolus as a result).
Also, some people tend to run lower when they are coming den with something - that hasn’t been my experience, as I usually run higher when sock, but I’ve seen people post about running lower with illness.
Also, please ask him to check his ketone levels. Suspending basal on the pump to treat a low can be a dangerous proposition, as being without any insulin for even a few hours can cause ketones to get dangerously high. I’ve gone up to “moderate” ketones in just 2-3 hours after forgetting to reconnect the pump after the shower.

This happens to me sometimes randomly. When it does, I’ll typically stop basal for 3 or so hours and eat protein along with carbs to keep it from rebounding.
After you give him juice, give him some protein with fat and his blood sugar should stay elevated over 75.
