Hello Drs. Thanks for always being there. I'm 8months postpartum. I was given 2 shots of tetanus injection during pregnancy at interval. I just realized I have missed the next injection date. I want to ask if going to get the injection now will not affect my baby and I since it has passed the due date and I want to ask if I get pregnant again will I start the tetanus injection all over or the one taken for my first baby will suffice?

Thank you Drs.

Tetanus toxoid vaccine injection does not affect your bab.

You can always go and get the missed dose as soon as possible.

The vaccine is to protect you from having tetanus and your baby from having neonatal tetanus.

You need to take 5 doses of tetanus toxoid vaccine... Either following a schedule or during each pregnancy.
